DOUBT YOUR DOUBTS - LETTERING PROJECT
THE STORY & DESIGN GOALS
This piece was created based on the recent thoughts I had when thinking about my new goals in 2019. I was super excited and motivated to work on those goals, but at the same time, It was hard to ignore the negative voice inside me — the doubt that I’m not good enough. Hence, in order to combat that thought, I created this piece to remind myself that perhaps, I should doubt my doubts.
The goal of the design was to invoke positivity and to speak to the audience who is feeling the same. The bold lettering and illustration choices were to make a strong impression to those feeling the same thoughts and perhaps, help them combat those thoughts as well.
Here’s the quick sketch concept and the process video of creating this piece.
I purposely selected different lettering style for each word “Doubt” to convey a different emotions for both and emphasized the first “Doubt” as I wanted this to be the focal point from an audience perspective.
